The MS305 (pay attention to the model number when purchasing) is a fine addition to a home network, especially with moving moderately large amounts of data between devices (pictures, streaming, archives) internally or via the Internet.

- Full 2.5gbps speed on all ports! - It does the job without any compromise. I've saturated the 2.5gb ports many times and it performs well.

This is a very sturdy switch with a nice metal housing. It has a bit of weight to it, which I think is very nice. Switches that are made of plastic tend to fly around at the mercy of the cables plugged into them. As with most consumer switches of this type, you just plug it in and forget it. No setup required. It is very compact, not much wasted space in the design. Link lights are bright and straight forward, also the 10/100/1000 link light is bright and reassures you that you are getting gigabit speeds. I was able to transfer a 100gb file at a steady 112mb/sec on my local network. This is a great speed that almost maxes out the 125mb/sec maximum speed that is theoretically attainable with a gigabit connection. No noticeable hiccups or burps while running 4 machines + the uplink at my desk. Came with attachable rubber feet. Also has mounting holes on the underside. Does not come with screws for the mounting.

Fits into the Ubuiquti ecosystem perfectly. Lowest price by far for anywhere near the quality and specifications for a NAS of this kind. 10 gigabit port. My Mac can format it APFS, just like an external drive. File sharing is a breeze. Security is easy to set up. Seven drive bays. RAID 5, 6, and 1+0 (with hot spare). Multiple volumes. Perfect integration into Ubiquity ecosystem.

1. Heavy steel - good heat dissipation - great for life in a closet. 2. Lots of ports - 8 3. Can be mounted a wall 4. Has a kensington lock hole on the back 5. Plug and play -power it and connect to the network It worked without having to adjust settings. It worked with a network USB hub that we have. Other switches were not capable of doing this.

-Has 8 ports. Perfect to grow into. -NetGear reliability - Had no issues with their products. -It was on sale at the time.

The switch has a very heavy and quality feel to it. POE+ works great with my cameras, and wireless access points.

Small/efficient design Flexible PoE output

I've been using these ever since I ditched WiFi for my network connectivity of all my computers and devices. I am totally wired now and I use these switches in every room to connect computers and devices. They work great. Full 1Gigabit throughput on Cat5e and they can be remotely rebooted, upgraded, etc. The first one's I purchased were version 1 and those did not have a Web Server in them (most of mine are still those)...The newer one's have a Webserver in them so you don't even have to use the TP-Link configuration software on those as you can just login direct to the web server (But as most of mine are still version 1 I still use the TP-Link configuration software which works on all versions). One of the other nice things about these are they have VLAN capability so if there's devices you want to restrict on your network (Like Android boxes) you can setup VLANS to restrict those devices from your network. They also have QOS capability but I haven't used that. There's supposedly also a warranty on these but I've never used it as I wait to get mine on sale so not really worth sending in and waiting. On sale these are about half the price of the Netgear comparable model (with Smart Features)...I use SEVEN on my network (one in a remote garage I ran cat5e to). I keep two spares as well. As long as TP-Link keeps these inexpensive I will keep using them as they have great features and the ability to remotely reboot and VLAN capability makes them THE Switch of choice for me.

UniFi compatible and suited to the kinds of awful environmental conditions the old Ubiquiti Tough Switch Pro was perfect for. Being managed by UniFi rather than UISP simplifies the network, so it's GREAT to have this niche filled. Surprisingly useful to have more ports, didn't know we needed them until we had the option.

I plugged this is for the bedroom equipment (off of TP-Link powerine from the living room hub). I haven't had to think about it once.

Super easy setup. Plenty of POE ports.

Easy installation. It is a "smart" switch and can provide basic information on port status and VLAN configuration.
